Meet the Team
James Moffatt

James Moffatt is descended from generations of horse riding experts and has been involved in the care and training of horses from a very young age.  He has experienced a successful riding career, which has seen him riding 78 winners, and is one of the select few that has won a race at the Cheltenham Festival as both a jockey and a trainer.  James Moffatt has been in charge of the racing stables since 2003 and has strived to upgrade the approach to training and caring for horses.  His approach is obviously successful as he has managed to produce big winners from his stables in Cartmel.  He has also recently got married and is enjoying being settled and looking forward to the future.

Nadine has always been involved in horses and is a graduate of Doncaster Racing College.  She has been part of the team for ten years after having two other jobs in racing yards as a work rider.  Nadine plays a major role in the feeding, veterinary side and general organisation of the yard.  She recently became a member of the Moffatt family when she married James Moffatt this year. (2015).

Brian Hughes

Brian is our resident jockey who originates from Ireland.  He has been riding with us since 2005.  We have built up a very strong relationship with him and are delighted that he is now one of the leading jockeys in the country .  Brian rode 100 winners last season and is a key member of the team with regards to schooling and planning.  He is ably backed up by Tony Kelly and Diamuid O’Regan who are two of the leading conditionals in the North of England.
