James Moffatt is based in Cartmel - a beautiful and historic village in the Lake District, Cumbria. Famous for its intimate race course, horse racing heritage and surrounding lake-land countryside - it’s a perfect location to train racehorses and a great place for owners to visit.
The racing stables are within a beautiful Georgian farm complex built originally by the Cavendish family who continue to reside at the nearby Holker Hall and comprise everything required to train winning racehorses including:
- Up to 35 racehorses can be accommodated at any time with 40 high quality stables.
- The racing stables include over 104 acres of land on which to train racehorses with various paddocks and free exercise areas.
- There is an excellent 1.5 mile all-weather gallop and 1.5 mile grass gallop. There is an owner observation area overlooking the gallops with stunning views of the surrounding countryside.
- State of the art walker next to stable block.
- There is excellent accommodation and dining within walking distance of the stables for racehorse owners.
